One aspect of the University of Arizona Health Sciences’ mission is to improve health and human potential through scientific investigations to solve critical health care problems. In support of this mission, a standardized and regulatory-compliant; privacy protected repository for fluid and tissue biospecimen processing and storage was created. This initiative allows for collaborations between investigators and allows internal and external investigators to reduce costs, redundancies, and risks associated with alternative bio-banking strategies. The UAHS Biorepository provides support for basic, clinical. and epidemiological research studies involving specimen collection processing, annotation, and inventory management.
Message from the Director
It is my privilege to serve as Director of the UAHS Biorepository. The biorepository unit serves as a standardized and regulatory-compliant; privacy protected repository and centralized resource to foster and promote interdisciplinary research and collaborations to solve critical health care problems through scientific investigations. We gladly provide various biobanking services as well as have a wide range of collections stored within the biorepository for potential access and distribution (dependent on PI approval).
We hope this website will assist you in learning more about the unit, our services, and currently housed collections.
We welcome your inquiries, and look forward to working with you.
