BE A PART OF TOMORROW’S CURES, TODAY

"An Institutional Review Board responsible for human subjects research at The University of Arizona reviewed this research project and found it to be acceptable, according to applicable state and federal regulations and University policies designed to protect the rights and welfare of participants in research."

Participation is simple!  All we need is a little saliva and 10 minutes of your time.  It costs you nothing, and you can help make a difference.  Your information is completely confidential. By participating, you could help researchers to advance medical science, understand the causes of many different human diseases, identify new drug targets for medical development, and discover and develop life-changing treatments.

As an added bonus, you will receive the following items about 2-3 months after your sample is sent back for testing:

-A free ancestry report on your origins and familial matches from Helix.com (similar to those available from National Geographic, Ancestry, 23andMe).
-A free report on 20-25 relevant genetic traits*
-The ability to request raw data files as they become available.

[*Health report is for educational and research use only, NOT for diagnostic use.]

How to participate:

1. Wait 30 minutes after eating or 10 minutes after drinking anything (follow kit instructions).

2. On your smartphone, enter https://is.gd/Saliva (the “S” is capitalized) or scan our QR code

           a. Read and sign the Univ. Arizona consent to participate in this project.

           b. Complete the short Health History form to receive your unique participant code.

 c. Go to the Helix.com website, click on the Univ. Arizona link and enter your participant code,

 d. Register and complete the additional consent to receive your free collection kit.

3. Follow instructions on the kit when it arrives, collect saliva, and send back in the mail.

4. Ancestry report and genetic traits results should arrive within 2-3 months after receipt.

5. The Univ. Arizona Biorepository will also receive additional genomic results at this time for its own studies.

*PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU MAY STOP PARTICIPATION IN THIS STUDY WITH EITHER HELIX AND/OR THE UNIVERSITY OF ARIZONA AT ANY TIME.
